The Mountain Laurel Bloom
The beauty of the mountain laurel is legendary and obvious. In the mountains it usually blooms in May. At lower elevations, it blooms earlier. Beautiful riding trails are filled these blooms at a nearby horse riding stable.
For medicinal uses mountain laurel can be very toxic when injested.
Some have said Indians have used the juice expressed from the moutain laurel leaves to commit suicide. So needless to say great caution should be used.
