Duke Energy and Jackson County have been creating a blessing for all of us on the northern shore of Lake Glenville in an area known as “The Pines”.
Since the dam was completed in 1941, this beautiful lake has provided swimming, boating, fishing and all kinds of recreation for locals and tourists alike. That’s in addition to it’s primary function of providing electricity.
Sometime, hopefully by summer 2015, the completion of a public recreation area consisting of formal sand beach area, privy facilities, “board walk” overlook, in addition to picnic facilities and an expanded parking area is eagerly anticipated. This is only a mile away from a local horse stable. So all your fun will be focused in a beautiful place.
